    I've been looking for a soft cotton yarn to make this cardigan for quite some time. I happened upon Yarn and Colors Epic this year and have been very pleasantly surprised by it. It's a lovely soft aran weight cotton and turns out it is just the right weight for this design without making any modifications to the actual pattern. I knitted it on 5.5mm needles to achieve the correct tension. My tension turns out very tight so, like the Felted Tweed Aran it is usually knit on a 5mm needle. It is always important to check the tension before you make a start. I went for a breton stripe colour combination so it is super summery and added colourful cuffs, mainly because I had some oddments of the pink sand and sunset left from another project. It only took me 5 days to complete this, mainly because I knitted most of the day nearly every day!

    • Buttons
    Other : I used 8 medium sized buttons about 15mm diameter. I chose some gold vintage domed blazer buttons I had in my stash.

    Notes: I stuck to the pattern as it was written for the second size, it was a lovely relaxed fit when complete. In terms of the colours chosen, I think I would choose Ecru as the main colour if I was making it again as the cream was a bit 'bright' on me. I find the colour compare tool really useful when choosing colours and am glad it has been added. THe colours of the yarns are fairly accurate, I've had no big surprises so far!
