    About

My first garment knitted in the round! I did find it a bit fiddly in places but the pattern instructions were reasonably clear and quite easy to follow. I found the lace section at the hem a bit confusing around the side seams so after ripping it out and starting again I adjusted the stitch count by 1 stitch and knitted the lace as one section all around. After knitting the top I couldn’t see why there was a need for slipping the stitch on the side seam. If knitting again I wouldn’t do this. I did have a problem with finishing the crochet edging around the neckline. My first attempt looked fine at first but was too loose so I had to redo it a little tighter. I am a crochet novice so that’s probably why! I was happy with the finished result. Love the colour.

Love this, and the colour is a treat! I’m thinking of doing it in Paintbox metallics but am worried about the crocheting - would it be possible to just knit the button loops?

Sorry Karen only just saw this so apologies for late reply. The crocheting is around the neckline and the sleeve edges. You could maybe pick up stitches and knit them. I forgot to make the loops on the front on my second attempt and just sewed the buttons on. I did crochet the loops on the sleeves but you could just overlap them and sew the buttons on. Hope this helps and good luck if you do decide to knit this. Look forward to seeing your finished item.
