    About

I cannot resist an Amanda Berry dog pattern and as Paddys puppy, Stella is a Cavapoo (King Charles Spaniel x Poodle) this was not going to pass me by! I had trouble getting the correct yarn and the correct shade so the knitted Stella is darker than real Stella (see photo) and real Stella is a bit curlier. Her nickname really is ‘Stella Bella’.

    Pattern

    Daisy the Cavapoochon

This pattern can be found here:
    www.deramores.com

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 3.75mm (US 5) 25cm

    Accessories

    • Tapestry Needle
    • Stitch Markers
    • Stuffing
Other : Stellas collar is a length of 7mm blue silk. Her eyes are 12mm Black safety eyes and her nose is an 18mm black safety nose (dog).

    Measurements

Notes: Stella, sitting, is 16 cms high which is slightly smaller than the pattern suggests should be 17 cms. The photos don’t do her justice- she looks a bit like a bundle of fluff in them!

Hi Vix, I’m going through a dry creative phase and have nothing to post, I’m sorry! Paddy is recovered and hubby and me seem to be endlessly in the throws of colds and coughs. I think it’s minding Paddy after school - he brings the germs back! He is learning to play dominoes with his grandad and is remarkably quick - better than me! Hope you and yours are keeping well, stay safe and Merry Lockdown!

Hi Hazel, just wanted to pop in and say I hope you're doing OK. Michelle said you'd emailed her that things weren't so good and poor wee
Padster was sick - hope you're both much better. Miss seeing your lovely work on here and your great witty banter with Michelle, Vix et al. Hope to see you back here soon. Much love and best wishes.

Lovely little dog, but yes, a nightmare to sew up. Amanda Berry dog patterns are good aren't they?

Thanks Cheryl, I love AB’s dog patterns and have quite a few still to knit, luckily not in faux fur!

Thank you Vix! I guess we’ll see if she’s allowed to join the pack. He is keen to see her now that he knows she’s finished so it’s looking good. Cheeky blighter asked if I’d knit him some ‘real’ dinosaurs as opposed to the set I knitted him when he was ‘baby Paddy’; his words!

@Vix: my only prayer is that he doesn’t insist on them being lifesize! I think Mr H would have a heart attack if he saw LK delivering that amount of yarn 😀

@Vix: your old man sounds like mine - eye rolls and eyebrows pointing heavenward whenever I get a yarn delivery! But he buys a £400 phone?

@Michelle M: never mind the yarn - imagine the safety stuffing! We’d have to move again! Andy is always first to the door if he hears the bell, which isn’t often as he’s always got his headphones on, and it’s always for me and he always waits to see what it is. If it’s for him he rushes upstairs with it 🤨

Ohh how cute, cute, cute, is Stella Bella, Hazel how clever are you, 😊she is gorgeous and Paddy is going to love her.😊 I know how soft and silky that wool is and it's crazy trying to sew it up, not being able to see a thing, but so worth it.😉I just want to tickle her wee tummy. Now I'm looking at Stella and Paddy and I think there might be a wee bit of a power play going on there, Stella's like if you upset me I'm going to bite your bum again and Paddy's looking down saying don't even think about it.lol.😉😊❤

Oh, I’m so happy you like her Michelle! It took no time to knit - after the twists and turns in the story but I just couldn’t sew up the piece; I just get all flummoxed with the fur. She sat for days in stuffed bits as I tried to pin them together properly. That pic of Stella and Paddy was from a couple of months ago and Stella has got very bold with Paddy but he does encourage it, to be fair.

Oh, thank you Christine! The real Stella Bella has been known to bite Paddy on the bottom and tries to lick and nibble at bare or flipflopped feet but she is adorable and so is her knitted avatar!

@Michelle M: Thank you for the support Michelle - but I would have to drop ALL of the dera-dogs off with Stella - could you cope? Then Paddy would have to come with his mum and granny....before you know it, full house!

Thank you Pam. She did turn out well but I hated the sewing up - you can’t see a thing for all the fur!
