Hi Liz,
Sorry for answering so late, I hadn’t see the notif.
I have alterned the colors for every single spike.
So during the single crochet I was switching to the other color to do the next 6 chains and the following sc with the alterned color and changing again when I was doing the sc.
It was a really long process but in the end I think it was worth it 😄
@Helene L:Thenks Helene, perfect timing - I've done the first two rows in separate colours and am now continuing with your technique. After all the time it took I'm not ripping the first two rows out.😂😂 It will take me forever as I crochet quite slowly, but as you say it will definitely be worth it. I hope the work colleague who got your one was happy with it. Many thanks for your reply - I appreciate any help I can get on here.😄
What a fabulous little hedgehog, very detailed. I'm off to get the pattern as my partner George loves hedgehogs and we are lucky enough to have 3 in the garden all summer, then they go off to hibernate in the winter.
