    My lovely neighbour, Vicky, (who you have all met before) is going to be a granny! At last!
    Kiri is having a baby in August, and so - of course!- out came the needles for my signature baby blanket. She hasn’t told anyone if it’s a boy or girl, so I did the ecru shade I used for Alfie. This one has almost NO MISTAKES! (Just one, on the very first row)
    When I gave it to Vicky last week she cuddled it and said “it’s just like gorgeous double cream” which, I think, hits the nail on the head with this Eco baby. I’ve added a photo of me and Kiri at her wedding - she’s a stunner!
    Knitting it gave me solace when my beloved dog Poppy took seriously ill and died on May 21st.

    Other : I also remembered to use the little wool ball zippy bag that Jenny gave me one Christmas. You have to remember to thread it through before you start casting on, and I never remember! This kept the wool clean and unharmed.

    Measurements

    Notes: : I forgot to measure it before I wrapped it up! but it's a good size - the pattern says it should be 66.5 x 90.5/26.25 x 35.75".

      Hi Helen, I posted on an earlier blanket, I love this!! .. but am wondering if you could tell me what stitch you use to get the transitional 'stripe' between the blocks? Many thanks Sue

        Hello Sue, thank you so much for your kind comments. The stitch between is 2 stitches, I think it’s called ‘TW2’ but basically you knit the second stitch on the left needle, knitways as usual but don’t slip it off, knit the first stitch and then slip them off together. Then on the other side you just purl them normally. I think the pattern tells you to cable the two stitches but that’s so fiddly with only two and I got sick of dropping my cable needle! So I experimented with doing the two ways and I couldn’t tell the difference on the work, so I’ve plumped for the easy option 😂

        @Sue B: you lucky lucky thing! This is positively the BEST time for a knitter. Once they are 7+ they don’t want handknits, so indulge yourself and get cracking!!
