Candy Cousins are the sweetest little knitted animals who are named after tasty sweet treats. They are Marshmallow the rabbit, Marmalade the cat, Popcorn the pig and Peppermint the panda.
SIZE - 15cm (6in) each so only uses small amounts of yarn
TWO STRAIGHT NEEDLES - All knitting is done on a pair of 3.25mm needles (US size 3).
YARN - double knitting (DK) yarn. (USA - light worsted, Australia - 8 ply).
EYES – 8mm or 9mm safety eyes have been used but are not essential as eyes can be embroidered using black yarn or embroidery floss.
BASIC KNITTING SKILLS REQUIRED - Cast on, cast off (bind off), knit, purl, k2tog (knit 2 stitches together), p2tog (purl 2 stitches together), kfb (knit front and back of stitch to increase).
PATTERN is easy to follow with lots of coloured pictures to assist with every stage of your toy making. All pattern rows are numbered.

I had already used the previous 4 cute ‘candy cousins’ pattern with the puppy, frog, elephant and bull. I had knit the puppy and elephant for a charity stall and they turned out so cute that I sent for this latest pattern and am knitting the cat. The instructions are easy to follow and do knit up quite quickly. It’s easy to use up oddments of wool too. The body, legs and head are knit in one piece so there’s only the arms and other tiny attachments to knit afterwards.
Lovely pattern . So far only made rabbit & pig-the recipient was delighted with them.
