All the style of a shawlette without the fuss of trying to keep it around your neck! This easy to wear cowl is designed to mimic the look of a shawl casually draped as a scarf.
Pattern includes written and charted directions for two gauges to accommodate sport - worsted weight yarn. Knits up fast from the top down with a small amount of yardage and is simple enough for an advanced beginner.
Samples were knit in Madelinetosh Pashmina in “Tern” (grey, sm gauge) and Twisted Fiber Art’s Catnip in Minstrel Evolution (gradient, lg gauge). Other listed yarns are suggested alternatives.
An important note about worsted gauge: If you plan to use a Twisted Fiber Art Catnip Evolution skein to make the LG gauge cowl as shown in the sample photos you MUST have accurate gauge. The cowl was designed to use up all but a few yards of a Catnip Evolution skein to fully display all of the wonderful color transitions. If your gauge is larger than recommended you will run out of yarn! If your gauge tends to grow as you knit you might consider going down a needle size. After knitting your swatch do not break yarn! Unravel it and use the yarn to begin knitting the cowl.
