As an experienced crocheter I confess to fiddling with this pattern. I love the vibrant colours and the feel of the Hayfield bonus - although I find the Zest and Clementine colourways work up with less bulk than the rest of the selection so far, requiring slight alterations to some sections to match up. As a 70 + year old Brit, I don’t have the history of Trick or Treat that floods the USA and so am changing the central section to remove the dripping blood and altering the words to ‘Spooky’ with woo-wooo sheet ghosts to fit more with UK traditions. I will also be using the designs to work matching cushion covers after the main project is completed. I will add the cobwebs as they caught my eye in the CAL originally.
I am not a fan of making squares and sewing them together but this banket has been fun to do. A little worried if there will be enough white yarn to finish, will have to wait and see.
Love this project. It's a bit fast-paced with a new pattern being dropped each week. That said, it's only 6 parts and they build on each other with more complexity each week. So good challenge for beginners, fun project for more advanced folks. This is my first time using Sirdar dk and I really like the quality and feel of the yarn. It's perfect for blankets. The videos are super helpful and the designer is interactive and helpful.
The packing for the wool was not good enough the bag was torn the wool it’s self not very good want be buying again
This is an easy to make, fun afghan. The yarn is very nice to work with and the colors are great. Directions are easy to follow. Makes a great seasonal gift.
