I bought this wool regularly it was the best and I use to recommend it to friends and also suggested it to people on Facebook but not anymore as the wool quality is very poor now it’s so thick that it feels you’re knitting with chunky wool just returned a lot of it back

Beautiful yarn
I bought 5 skeins of Paintbox Simply Aran yarn. It is great quality and I love the color. but I just spent 2 hours untangling one of the skeins. I ended up cutting the yarn so I had less to pull through the knots. For sure don't try to pull the end from the middle. It's awkward but unrolling from the outside works much better.

I love paintbox for their range of colours and I’ve previously enjoyed working with it. This time I’ve been a bit disappointed. It’s still ok for the price but the quality seems to have dropped off. The first ball had fibres from a purple colour in one section, which was also noticeably thinner than the rest. The latest ball had a section with big variations in the amount of twist, plus then one of the strands was broken. I’m currently on my 4th ball in this project. I’ve so far had 3 factory knots. This is within their standard but it’s still surprising to me given that I’ve otherwise only ever had a single skein with one knot.
