Product Details
Prince and Princess Coronet hats
This pattern is for DK yarn Stocking stitch hats with a Garter stitch border, featuring a Coronet design in two colours, suitable for a little Prince or Princess. The hats are knitted flat on single point needles, using the Intarsia method and finished with a stitched centre back seam.
The pattern is in three sizes to suit : up to 12 months/1 – 3 years/ 3 – 10 years, in a downloadable PDF format, on 4 pages, with row by row instructions.
Measurements: Around brim (unstretched) 15 /17/ 20 inches : 38/43/51 cms. Hem to crown: 5¾ /6¾ /7¾ inches ; 15/17/19.5 cms.
Materials required for this project: Approx 25/35/50 grams background colour plus 5/7/10 grams contrast colour and oddments of a 3rd colour for the highlights.
I have knitted my hats in a machine washable DK wool yarn, for warmth & ease of laundering, although the pattern is suitable for other DK types of yarn as preferred.
