Product Details
These cosy mittens have a long cuff which you can fold back or wear pushed up. The back of the hand features an interesting dense cable for extra warm, with smooth stocking stitch on the palms for comfort.
Skills needed
Knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, cabling, working in the round.
There is a small chart for the cable on p7 and photo tutorials for the cable stitches on pp8 & 9.
Tension
20 sts x 30 rounds stocking stitch to 10cm (4in) square using 4.5mm needles
These mitts use slightly smaller than recommended needles to give a cosy fabric.
Sizes
To fit a 17-18 (19-20) cm/ 6¾-7(7½-8) in hand circumference at knuckles.
Actual circ at knuckles 18(20) cm/ 7(8) in.
Actual length 23cm/ 9in (cuff length is 10cm/ 4in and can be shortened if preferred).
Choose an aran or worsted weight plied wool yarn for best results.
