I am not a shrimp…I am a king prawn! :) This is my original design that I created based on The Muppets character Pepe the King Prawn. This pattern is purely fan art (flattery in its highest form), and is in no way associated with The Muppets.
You should feel comfortable making amigurumi toys to complete him successfully, but don’t be scared if you don’t consider yourself seasoned—just take your time and enjoy the process!
Some techniques you’ll be using are: crocheting in the round, half-color changes, twisted cords, and some basic sewing. I’ve supplied ample descriptions and photos to (hopefully!) make everything clear. This pattern doesn’t take much of each color yarn—half a 3.5-oz skein (or less) of each color (burnt orange, black, beige, pink, red, dark brown, white, gold/mustard yellow) should get you by, and you may already have what you need in your stash.

Straight up, I didn't make this. I bought the pattern because, holy cow PEPE! I sent it to a friend who's crocheted forever. She had to look up a thing or two, but found the yarn quick and had it done for me in 4 or so (around her work and normal life, ya know). I love this guy so much I can't express. I'm so thrilled someone not only took the time to make this, but was kind enough to share it (even if for a couple bucks). And that tooth - my gawd....
This is a great crochet pattern! It’s easy to follow and the directions are clear. Pepe came out perfect! I also sewed him a Hawaiian shirt with a modified pattern for a 12” doll. I just wish I had taken more photos before I gifted him! Might need to make another one!
