Product Details

You won't believe how quickly you can knit a pair of October One-Skein Socks!

The pattern calls for worsted weight yarn - I used Malabrigo Rios in colorway 227 Volcan - rather than fingering/sock yarn, so they knit up quickly.

Cast on with a stretchy Double Start Cast on (with video tutorial) or Long Tail Cast on. The pattern stitch is stockinette with an assymetrical cable toward the outer edge of the foot. The heel flap is knit in a pattern of slipped and knitted stitches, with short rows to give a cup shape to the heel. Gusset stitches are picked up and decreased, the toe is shaped with decreases, and grafted together using the Kitchener stitch.

Size: Best fits women with 8.75” (22 cm) to 9.75 (24.5 cm) foot length, or U.S. shoe sizes 6 to 8.5.

Gauge: 11 sts and 16 rnds = 2” in stockinette in Size 5 (3.75mm) double pointed needles, or whatever size necessary to get gauge.
