Product Details
This design is on the front cover of The Knitter Issue 79.
The glorious vibrant colours of these lovely yarns made at the historic New Lanark mills, inspired this blend of tartan and Fair Isle - a truly Scottish combination. The Fronts slope gently to the shoulders to give a little extra coverage at the hip but choose the size according to how you like your jacket to fit. The techniques used here are not particularly demanding but do look at the tips for working the tartan which can otherwise be a little baffling. The Fair Isle sections are worked with the stranded technique and the tartan is a mixture of stranded technique and intarsia with the yarns for the vertical bands being carried on separate bobbins.
