Product Details
In 2022 I purchased a winter solstice kit from Cosy Posy Yarns. It consisted of a 100 gram skein of their ‘Soft & Cosy’ yarn and 20 mini-skeins (20 grams each). I decided to challenge myself to design a shawl using the yarn and to knit the yarn in the order set by the dyer.
The shawl is designed to knit with both solstice kits (20 mini-skeins) and advent kits (24 mini-skeins). Each stripe uses 72 (86) yards/66 (79) meters of yarn so it is also a great stash busting project.
Yarn: 1,840 (2,574) yards/1,682 (2,353) meters of a fingering weight yarn that knits up to 7-7.5 sts/inch.
Main Colour: 400 (500) yards/366 (457) meters
Contrasting Colours: 1,440 (2,074) yards/1317 (1,896) meters, each stripe uses 72 (86) yards/66 (79) meters
