I love mittens, they are warm, cosy and comfortable, and they bring back wonderful childhood memories of snowball throwing and gathering up autumn leaves. Here you will find the perfect 'go-to' mitten pattern, beautifully simple to make and perfect for using all those gorgeous variegated and hand dyed yarns. They look equally lovely in soft heathers and plains too. Very easy to adapt to bigger/smaller sizes and great for both men and women. The easy to work, gusseted thumb, provides a comfy fit and adds a professional finishing touch. I also show you how to work the same simple pattern as a pair of convertible mittens. Made in Aran/Worsted weight yarn ensure they work up quickly and are great for gift giving.
Method: Worked from the cuff upwards and entirely in the round. The thumbs are then completed and also knitted in the round therefore there are no seams to be sewn. A little stitching is required for the convertible version but is very easy.
Materials: Each pair of mittens requires less than 100g of Aran/Worsted Weight Yarn (yardage will depend on chosen yarn and size of mitten).
