Product Details
This hat was inspired by the YA novel “Delirium” by Lauren Oliver. A cabled ribbing transitions into a slouchy hat utilizing two lace patterns, making for a challenging knit that's perfect for any occasion. This hat uses all the tricks - lace, cables and changing stitch counts, and the stitch patterns are given as charts only. The slouchy nature of the hat is due to switching needle sizes and shifting from a cabled pattern to a more open lace pattern. Although it looks complicated, the hat works up quickly in aran yarn, so it's perfect for a last-minute gift.
Skills needed: knitting in the round, purling, increasing, decreasing, cabling and lace knitting.
Gauge: 17 sts/22 rows over 4 in/10 cm in pattern using large needles.
Sample shown was knit in Kettle Yarn Co Lomond Aran in "Ginger".
