Product Details
I love going on an woodland walk in autumn - colourful leaves on the trees, hunting for and trying to identify the many toadstools, and perhaps catching a glimpse of a fox or rabbit.
I hope this is a good introduction to fair isle knitting. Only the fox has three colours, but with all the other motifs you are working with just two strands. It is also a nice small project, possibly a bit easier than embarking on a garment if you are new to the technique.
There is some embroidery on each motif, and I particularly enjoyed this part of the project.
Materials: You will approximately 4 x 40g. Use DK wool and 4mm needles. For the embroidery you will need very small amounts of white, black and green wool.
Hot water bottles vary in size. This pattern makes a cover for a 2 litre bottle of 19cm x 33cm. The finished cover size is 21cm x 35cm. If your bottle has different dimensions you can easily adapt this pattern, and the instructions explain how to do this.
