Product Details

Wildhood is a playful spinoff of the medieval hood designs in the Hoods for the Woods collection. Simple and fun to make, it’s also warm and comfortable, and perfect for expressing your Inner Wild, or just for Book Week.

Choose your animal, make your ears, then knit your hood. Sizing is adaptable for anyone from a wee babby to Andre the Giant - just keep knitting until it reaches your desired depth…

The pattern is written for DK yarn, however could be adapted to a different weight by working extra rows and figuring out your gauge as you go.

  1. Yardage: 60m (65y) for the toddler size up to 200m (220y) for the large/Adult, in DK or worsted yarn.
  2. Needles: 3.5mm (US size 4 - or to suit gauge) DPNs to begin, circular needles of 60-80cm/24-31”,
  3. Notions: Embroidery needle & scrap yarn for attaching the ears. Spare needles or scrap yarn to hold the back half of the stitches while working the brim.
