Featuring stranded colourwork knitted in the round, this cowl is inspired by stonework tracery at Wenlock Priory in Shropshire. The edges are finished with Latvian braids.
Requires Erika Knight Wild Wool - one skein in each of Pootle and Mooch, or approx 130m in each of two colours of aran weight yarn. Gauge 20 sts and 21 rnds to 10cm/4in (achieved on 5mm needle).
Skills RequiredThe pattern uses stranded colourwork, although does not require the anchoring of long yarn floats at the back of the work. The edges are worked using a Latvian braid. Other techniques include an alternating two-colour cast-on and a suspended bind-off. Instructions are included within the pattern. Knowledge of single-colour long tail cast-on is assumed.
