Product Details
Sunny Scandinavian Hat is called ‘sunny’ because of the lovely bright sunshine colours used to brighten up a winters day. The designs are traditional Fair Isle motifs.
Size: One size, To fit a large adults head 60cm - 62cm (24 inches) circumference, or slightly slouchy on a teenager/older child
Yarn: 5 colours of 8 ply/DK/light, 50gm balls of merino wool. I often use Debbie Bliss Rialto DK, Lang Yarns Merino 120 & Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Merino. Length of yarn is usually between 103 - 125 metres/112 - 137 yards per ball. Any wool of the same gauge will be fine.
Suggested Needles: 3.25mm/US 3 DPNs, OR 3.25mm/US 3 circular needle for casting on & knitting rib. 4mm/US 6 circular needle for hat body. 4mm/US 6 DPNs for shaping the crown.
Techniques: Knitting in the round, knit & purl stitches, decreasing, catching floats, weaving.
Notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle.
