Seascape Waves Blanket worked in Ice Magic Bulky (category 5) looks fabulous in the variegated colour way however the pattern also looks lovely in single colour yarn due to the texture produced by working v stitch corner to corner with a scallop border.
This is an advanced beginners pattern which is relatively simple, the stitch placement is the most complex part of this work. V stitch is worked corner to corner, increasing to the desired width and decreasing to close off the end of the blanket.

Gauge is unimportant, its more important to get the drape you want for the finished piece so it is worthwhile making a smaller swatch using your chosen yarn and hook size to check the effect as you may need to increase/decrease hook size.
