Sheer and draping, Sapphire is an easy knit for the beginner. For an open and airy beehive stitch pattern, Sapphire requires a yarn with very little stretch and high rayon content. The choice of yarn will have a pronounced effect on the finished appearance.

Given are two suggestions of yarn to create very different finished scarves.
Stacy Charles Ritratto (shown on cover photo) gives a more subtle misty appearance due to the mohair content of the yarn.
Casino 11 gives a much more crisp appearance due to the rayon/cotton blend and lack of mohair. The close up photo of the cream yarn sample is Casino 11.
