I have used Paintbox DK cotton but a similar DK or lace weight yarn can be substituted. The pattern includes both a stitch chart and line by line instructions. The pattern is appropriate for an intermediate level crocheter; its not difficult but may be confusing to a beginner. The shawl in the photo is about 60 inches by 20 inches but is easily made smaller or larger.
