Patchwork rainbow Elmer inspired blanket

My toddler ADORES the Elmer the Elephant books by David McKee, which inspired me to create this rainbow patchwork blanket for him. They are amazing books and if you haven't read them please check them out.

Crochet level – beginner.

This pattern is written in American Standard crochet terms.

Finished size – 77cm x 99cm (30.3in x 39in). However, you can easily amend the size by adding or removing squares.

This crochet rainbow blanket is not only super cute but super easy to make. It's crocheted in a simple single crochet pattern throughout, meaning you can really get in to the rhythm of this blanket.

You can of course use any colour or yarn weight/hook size for this pattern to create different looks. if using a different yarn weight please check the yarn for the correct size hook.
