Product Details
Beautiful cables and alternating textured bands decorate this wonderful shawl.
Mathilda is a sideways-knit triangular shawl. You start knitting with just a few stitches at one tip, then work your way across to the opposite tip, creating a triangle shape by first increasing and then decreasing along one of the edges.
An option for a trapezoid shaped version is also included.
I made my original sample with a plied fingering held together with a fluffy fingering weight yarn to achieve a dk-worsted weight gauge. The pattern provides lots of options for easy adjustments though if you wish to use a different yarn weight or make a smaller/larger shawl according to the available yardage.
Fully written row-by-row as well as charted instructions are provided so you can choose which you prefer to work from.
I hope you enjoy the pattern!
Gauge: 18 sts x 27 rows = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4“ in double moss stitch.
Needles: 5 mm / US 8----------
