This is a UK Pattern, using any Aran weight yarn, although Sidar Wool Rich Aran is recommended. It uses double crochet and treble stitches. I would rate it Easy to Intermediate
The hats look very stylish and are great to wear - perfect for spring
This is a great pattern and crochets up really quickly (I can make a hat in an evening if I start early enough!)
