Gnelfy and his sister Gnevie are nisses or tomtes or to me gnomes.
When worked in Aran/Worsted Weight they measure 13 inches/33cms from top to toe (not including hats); when worked in Double Knit/Light Worsted Weight they measure 11 inches/28cms (not including hats).
Any yarn works, but keep it all the same weight for each gnome. Suggested yarn for Gnevie’s hair would be a faux fur, King Cole Luxury Fur or James C Brett Faux Fur work very well. Eyelash yarn for Gnelfy’s beard works really well. I used Schachenmayr Brazilia.
Gnelfy and Gnevie are knitted flat and assembled, full directions with photos are included in this pattern. I used mattress stitch throughout.
