Pattern overview
A row of knitting goes up the back of the hand, arches over the top of the hand, and continues over the fingers across the palm, then down to the center of the inner side of the hand. The shape of the mittens is formed at the break between the two needles with increases, while the inner side is shaped with decreases. The cuff is worked in garter stitch in the round. The thumb is worked around the thumb hole on the side of the mitten. The sample shown uses a chunky-weight roving yarn in size M. This pattern looks best in variegated or tonal-colored yarn. Choose a single or plied yarn with a slight twist. Pure, non-superwash wool will work best, whether single or plied.
