The second design in the Leather, Lace, Grit & Grace collection inspired by Bessie Coleman. Since she traveled to France to receive her pilot's license (and most of her photos show her in some sort of hat), I thought a lace beret was just the thing. This version is all one piece, with the broomstick lace band worked at the end. Buttons add a touch of whimsy, but you should feel free to adorn your beret in whatever way suits you.
