This cowl brings together four distinct lace patterns in a gentle rhythm — and thanks to its generous length, it will keep the cold winds at bay. You can knit it with five mini skeins for a play of colour, or in a single shade for a timeless look. The cowl is worked from the bottom up.

Gauge:
Pattern A: 30 sts x 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4″ x 4″] after blocking
Pattern B: 27 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4″ x 4″] after blocking
Gauge is not crucial for this cowl, but note that different gauges will affect the amount of yarn used.
Needles:
3.25 mm [US 3] and 3.5 mm [US 4] circular needles, 40 cm [16″] in length – or 100 cm [40″] circular needles if you prefer to use the magic loop technique.
