Product Details
These cute blanket blocks are made by firstly knitting the square and then adding the bees and words using duplicate stitch, also known as Swiss Darning. However, you could use the intarsia method (following the chart) to knit them in as you go, meaning no embroidery at the end!
The blocks are extremely versatile not only to use for blankets/afghans but could also be used for coasters, framed as wall art, bunting, cushion/pillow covers, bed or table runners. The possibilities are endless! The Bee motifs could also be used for fair isle/stranded knitting projects.
The blocks could be made smaller or larger by using a different weight yarn.
Using DK weight yarn - Yarn amounts for ONE block: 20g/42m/46yds approx. for each block; 4m/4.4yds for the lettering on each block; 1m/1.1yds in each of the three colours for one bee motif. Note: Yarn amounts given are based on average requirements and are approximate.
