Product Details
The Dala Horse has a sentimental place in the hearts of many Scandinavians, as the Swedish wooden statuette represents strength, faithfulness, wisdom, and dignity. The horse has a sentimental place in my heart too; my Grandma had a red horse that sat on her mantelpiece, and it reminds me of fun sleepovers with my grandparents as a child. I have made a knitted version of the horse, with a saddle and reins in primary colours with embroidered details. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the horses are knit in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).
For very confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, plus embroidery and seaming to finish. One size, 17cm long x 19cm tall.
