Amici - Italian for ‘friends’.
Amici cowl is a cable & lace cowl which is easy to memorize and looks more complicated than is.
Yarn: 2 skeins SnailYarn BFL/Masham DK (Bluefaced Leicester/Masham British wool, 100 gr-262yds/240m). Sample shown in color: natural, 476yds/435m used.
Or any DK weight yarn, approx. 437-492yds (400-450m) for example Baa Ram Ewe Dovestone DK.
Materials: US 6 (4.0 mm) 24” (60 cm) circular needle or size to obtain gauge. US 7 (4.5 mm) 24” (60 cm) circular needle or size to obtain gauge.
Stitch markers, cable needle, tapestry needle.
Gauge: One cable pattern repeat (28 stitches x 12 rounds), blocked = 4.25” x 1.54” (10.75 x 3.9 cm). Gauge is not that crucial but will affect final size and yardage.
Finished dimensions: Approx. 25.6” (65 cm) circumference x 17.75“ (45 cm) height.
Adjustments: Size is easy to adjust.
