My grandson Alex will soon be 3 years old, so I decided to knit this cardigan to put with his gifts.
I enjoyed knitting the cable design, as I love a bit of cabling on a garment.
The hood was knitted separate from the body of the cardigan, and then stitched on, which is unusual as normally you pick up stitches to complete it. I think I prefer putting the stitches for the hood on a stitch holder, or picking them up.
The finished garment doesn't look particularly large for a 2-3 year old, but does look as though the design allows some stretch. I am sure it will fit Alex okay.
The next size was 4-5 years which I thought would be too big for him.
I have included a picture of this pattern as it does not come up when you search for it to include it on the project. But in a separate search it does. I don’t know why? I have asked Love Crafts but did not get an answer. The website staff at LC say the technical team will look into it.
