I originally called this the “zig zag scarf” because of the geometric nature of the lace pattern. Once I saw a photo of some roofs from the corner of Valencia Street and 24th Street (Mission District) of San Francisco, I changed the name of the pattern to Valencia.
Pattern contains both written and charted instructions.

Summer Scarf (fingering weight): 738 yards/675 meters of plant fiber (preferably linen) blend, structured fingering weight yarn
Fall Wrap (aran weight): 573 yds/524 meters plant fiber (preferably linen) blend, structured fingering weight yarn that knits up to 6 to 7 sts/inch, held together with 573 yds/524 meters merino/wool blend fingering weight yarn that knits up to 7 to 8 sts/inch.
