Inspired by The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, this is one of three unique patterns for a knitted poppy with a bit of a difference. This knitted poppy is around the same size and shape as the traditionally bought paper poppy - perfect for wearing as a brooch or attaching to a hairband, to show your support on Remembrance Day.
The Traditional style poppy can be made in two different ways - Garter stitch or stocking stitch. Made from one or more knitted main pieces, a knitted centre piece, a knitted leaf, and a finger-knitted stem. All pieces are sewn together.

Total time - 1 Hour to 1 Hour 20 Minutes Each Poppy
3.25mm knitting needles (UK 10, US 3)
Double knitting yarn - red, light green, and black. Optional bright green for stem.

Optional Pin/Plain Hairband - to Sew to the Back to form a Badge/Decorative hairband
