The Maker's Forest Tunic is one of the patterns from Story Maker: an illustrated book of knitting, fibre & fable, a short illustrated novel with 12 original knitting patterns inspired by the story. The print version is available from Story Made Yarns.
The Maker’s Forest Tunic is a fascinating seamless knit. The seamless construction is achieved by casting on provisionally at the back armhole opening, working up and over the shoulders down to the bottom of the front armholes, then joining to work in the round from the top down. (The pattern includes a schematic to help visualize this journey.)
The tunic skirt is flared by gradually increasing needle size over the course of the lace pattern.
