Simple and striking, this cross body bag combines two beautiful Sunflower Lovers granny squares and adds a sturdy non-stretch thermal stitch strap, to create a perfect casual bag for the summer.
Written in English using US terminology, the pattern features comprehensive photo tutorials for less familiar stitches (including the thermal stitch strap) and is suitable for confident beginners familiar with single, double, treble and front post stitches.
You will need: -approx 210m/230yds of aran weight yarn. I used 140g Yarn & Colors Epic in four colours: approx 6g of each of the browns, 12g yellow, and 116g cream. -a 5mm hook -a button (optional – I used 1 x 20mm button)
The completed bag measures approximately 20cm x 20cm (8" x 8") with the strap measuring approximately 105cm (41 ½") end to end. This pattern would also work well if you prefer to use DK yarn, with a 4mm hook. This will result in a smaller bag, and you may want to add extra strap rows to reach your desired length.
