These elegantly cabled fingerless mittens are worked entirely in slip stitches, using the back loop only slip stitch. The cable is worked horizontally - a technique that I invented.
The pattern includes written instructions and step-by-step picture tutorials for a horizontal four-stranded braid and for an invisible seam. It has symmetrical right hand and left hand cable patterns.
size: The pattern is written for size M. The elastic stitch used makes the mittens fit most hands. Instructions are given to adjust the size to larger hands.
skills needed: You should be comfortable with back loop only slip stitches. A tutorial on the basic slip stitches can be found at ayarnifiedlife, for example.
skills learned: You will learn how to do an horizontal four-stranded braid and how to do an invisible seam in back loop only slip stitch with a darning needle.
