The newsboy cap is knit in one piece and the brim stays in shape without any extra support. The brim is rather challenging to work, but to make up for that, a detailed illustrated appendix explains the tricky steps and all the techniques used including the provisional cast-on, short rows and the twists of the Quadratur Cable Pattern. If you already know how to knit and purl and how to knit in the round, all further skills may be learned by working this pattern. This includes the twists for the cable pattern, increases, decreases and the provisional cast-on using waste yarn. As always you might decide not to print this part of the pattern to save some ink.

For an easy and relaxing knit work the hat as a beret, i.e. without brim, directions are given in the pattern.

The scarf is a really straightforward knit even though the pattern looks rather complex. The pattern of twists is easy to memorize, once started.The wrong side of the scarf looks like textured reverse stocking stitch.

The wristlets are quick knits and go well with almost any outfit. The pattern gives the option to work some increases in case you prefere a shaped version to a slim fit.
