Design

Both dresses have a pinecone pattern to the skirt and a sand stitch hemline.

For the Short Sleeved Dress, the front, back and sleeves are knitted separately on straight needles and sewn together. Stitches are picked up to complete the neckline and for the opening at the back. For the Sleeveless Dress, the front and back are knitted separately on straight needles and sewn together. Stitches are picked up to finish off the armhole edges.

Stitches are picked up for the back borders for both dresses.

A matching bonnet is also included.

Yarn

The pattern uses double knitting wool (an alternative yarn for overseas knitters would be USA light worsted or Australian 8 ply).

The picture shows the 46 cms/18 inches size knitted using Rico Baby Classic DK in shade Light Green (027) and Dusky Pink (040).
