Ocean Currents Blanket Knitting Pattern

Country ways and age-old techniques meet in the Ocean Currents Blanket, with echoes of American patchwork bedspreads and Japanese indigo pieced quilts. The design emulates these old ways and combines new yarns with left-over remnants to produce a stunning one-of-a kind result. The pattern includes three different sizes to fit the full range of bed sizes. All are generously sized to give a fold-back for extra warmth and can be worked in one piece or in strips which are later sewn together.

Pattern Information:

Yarn:Cascade 220, 100% wool, 202m/220 yds:100gm skein, gauge 18-20 sts:10 cm/4 ins using 4.5-5.0mm/US 7-8 needles in 6 toning colours. You can also combine similar yarns from different dyelots or your left-over box to give a pleasing country look.

Techniques:Knitting, purling, slipped stitches, increases, decreases, yarn overs, cabling, Provisional Cast-On & working long circular rounds.
