The secret is in the mix of materials.
Two yarns: the first one is a Baby Alpaca, amazingly soft, for the warm side and the pretty drape. The second is a Mohair Silk yarn, for the texture, the lightness and the fluffy touch. In the end, a nice duo that works perfectly.
About the construction, it is a project that is knitted top down with a set of increases and stocking stitch/garter stitch stripes on the first part. The lace edging is then worked laterally. Finally the stitches are picked up to add some more stripes before the small loops border.
