Lunisolar poncho

I wanted a poncho that had texture and interest, that included a little challenge, but that was also a pleasure to make. Explore some textured crochet stitches to create a beautiful, functional poncho. The design is based on a rectangle, which is then folded in half and stitched along one long edge, leaving a neck opening. The poncho is slightly asymmetrical - the basic rectangle is a little narrower at each of the short edges because of the linen stitch border. I used two full Scheepjes Whirls in Red Velvet Sunrise and part of a matching Whirlette (Citrus) on a 3.75mm hook. The size of the poncho can be easily increased by making more repeats, but you would need more yarn.
