Détails du produit

Lin-Lin Shawl is a long crescent-shaped shawl knitted from the top-down. The inspiration for this shawl is the little copse at the back of my childhood house in Japan. Lin is another way to read a Chinese character, “林” meaning woods. I aligned trees in the shawl consisted of 3 sections, trunk, branch and bird. You grow trees from seeds, by the long cast-on, trunk is represented in 3x3 rib stitch shaped with short rows. Branch is represented in Cross Hatch stitch pattern with increases on every row to extend the wingspan. Then, I put a motif I call a bird on top of the tree, in ruffle edge stitch. When you wear it, they go upside down, I hope you don’t care! While details are given for worsted, DK and fingering weight yarns, you can work this shawl in any yarn you like and grow your trees as tall as you like.
