La Isla Bonita

This lightweight shrug is perfect for all year round; wear it over a favorite sundress in the cool summer evenings, or simply over a favorite top on the way to school or kindergarten. The shrug is worked as a modified top down raglan, features ¾ bell sleeves with optional striking cable work.

Unlike like the rest of the designs in my “La Isla Bonita Collection" that are made with DK gauge, this shrug is worked to sport weight gauge. However it still requires just one skein of fingering weight yarn for most sizes.

Gauge: 24 stitches and 32 rows = 10 cm in Stockinette stitch

NOTIONS:

• 3.25 mm/US #3 circular needles (100 cm/39");
• 3.5 mm/US #4 circular needles (60 cm/24") or size to obtain gauge;
• 3.5 mm/US #4 circular needles (30 cm/12” or DPN’s) optional;
• 6 stitch markers (2 color A to mark shoulder/sleeve areas; 4 color B to mark cable area);
• Waste yarn/stitch holders;
• Cable Needle (optional).
