This is an adorable sleep sack and matching hat styled after the Hungry Caterpillar, perfect for newborn photo shoots.
The size made by the pattern will fit a newborn up to one month of age, depending on the size of the infant. Knitters wishing the sleep sack to fit larger sized infants may feel free to experiment with different needle sizes to create more give in the fabric - exact gauge is not as important when knitting sleeveless items.
The pattern calls for techniques that include knitting in the round, use of double pointed needles, yarn overs, ribbing, and i-cord.
Please note that the sleep sack made by this pattern is intended as a costume only and is not intended for baby's sleeping garb. Please do not leave children unattended in this sleep sack. Eyelets are large enough for little fingers and toes to become tangled, so please use with caution.
