Our youngest asked for cosy socks for Christmas. So I was on the lookout for a pretty, soft sock yarn that wasn’t too thin because the socks are supposed to be worn around the house without shoes. Turns out, this is not an easy task because most thick sock yarns (8 threads) have a high percentage of wool in them, which can lead to unwanted itchiness.This is why I decided to go for a sock yarn with silk content and just doubled the 4-threaded yarn. Plus, the spiral pattern I chose ensures further thickness but remains stretchy at the same time. The favourite colour of our youngest, green, was on offer in a kiwi shade, hopefully making the present a win all around.
