I regularly watch the “Round the Twist” knitting video podcast by Carin Boelman. Things got very interesting when she started talking about a new guy she was dating that she thought was a “keeper”; and things got very amusing when she introduced him to the Firefly television series and he requested an earflap hat like the one the series character Jayne Cobb received from his mother – a red, orange and yellow monstrosity with a massive pompom of those colours to top it all off.
Carin eventually announced her engagement to this “keeper”, and began discussing wedding plans! In episode 138, she revealed that she’d love to have mini amigurumi cupcakes as decorations for all the tables or favours for guests. But (to her credit), she realised that she didn’t really have the time to do them all herself, so if any of her viewers would like to help out by knitting cupcakes, she would love that.
So I made something up, and this pattern is the result. Enjoy!
